As expected, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved East into the lower Mississippi Valley region overnight and early this morning, and is currently located from northeast Mississippi to near Beaumont, TX.
The line will continue East today, posing a threat of mainly damaging wind gusts, especially within the red and yellow shaded areas on the image below:
A few tornadoes are also possible, primarily within the red shaded area on the same image.
A Tornado Watch is currently in effect across the region:
The highest tornado threat now and throughout the day will be with any isolated storm that is able to form out head of the main line and become well organized.
